This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from mypetyear.com (the "Site").
My Pet Year is operated by Paper Code Adrianna Błaszczyńska ("we", "us", or "our").
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information".
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- "Cookies" are data files that are placed on your device and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.
- "Log files" track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- "Web beacons", "tags", and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Photo Data
We temporarily process photos you upload to generate your order; photos are sent to AI service providers for generation only. We do not use your photos for AI training or advertising.
Images may be pets only, or—where the product is designed for it—pets with identifiable adults 18+. You may submit such photos only if you are authorized to submit them and have consent (or another lawful basis) for any identifiable adult. Processing is for fulfillment under the retention rules in this Policy.
Retention: Photos and generated files are deleted 30 days after delivery (non-identifiable metadata may remain). Free previews: compressed copies and preview images are stored temporarily and deleted within the same 30-day window.
Transient copies: Images may exist briefly in memory, logs, or provider systems as needed to run, secure, or troubleshoot the service.
Uploads and automated checks
Rules depend on the product. Pet-focused flows may use automated checks (e.g. face detection) when people are not intended. Other products may allow people and pets; checks may differ. See Photo Data and our Terms of Service; mismatches may affect results and refunds.
AI Assistant Chat Data
When you use our AI Assistant chat feature, we store your conversation messages to improve our service and for quality analysis.
What we collect: Message content, timestamps, and your general location (country only, from IP address). We do not associate chat conversations with your personal identity or order history.
Data retention: Chat conversations are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
AI processing: Messages are sent to our AI service provider to generate responses. See our Terms of Service for AI Assistant usage guidelines.
Save for Later
When you use the Save for Later feature, we collect your email address to send you a link to restore your design and a reminder after 2 days if you have not completed your purchase.
Data retention: Save-for-later data (email and saved design state) is stored for up to 3 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
Manual Preview Adjustments
If you ask us to tweak a poster preview before checkout, we collect your email, your notes, and marketing consent. We save this preview for you so you can return to it and proceed with your purchase after changes.
Data retention: Session data is deleted after up to 5 days. Marketing consent lasts until you unsubscribe; support emails may be kept for normal records.
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, email address, and payment information. For print orders, we also collect your shipping address (street address, city, state/province, postal code, and country) and phone number. You may optionally provide important details about your pet during checkout, which we review manually but cannot guarantee will be incorporated due to our automated generation process. We refer to this information as "Order Information".
When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
