Multiple pets on one calendar
The limit is different for calendars and posters, and the reason why is the most useful thing on this page.

How many pets can go on one calendar?
You can upload up to four separate photos, or one photo with several pets in it. We guarantee quality for up to two pets on a calendar. Two is where the likeness holds up across all twelve months. Beyond that, results get less predictable from month to month.
The number is not arbitrary. A calendar is twelve separate scenes, each one reconstructing every pet from scratch. Two animals stay recognisable across all twelve. Four have to stay recognisable forty-eight times, and somewhere in there one of them starts turning into the other.
How many pets can go on a poster?
There is no limit on posters, because you see the finished result in the preview before you pay. If four pets do not work, you know before spending anything. That is the practical difference: a poster is one image you can check, a calendar is twelve you cannot.

Should you upload one photo or several?
Separate photos usually work better. One clear photo of each pet gives the model a clean look at each face, which it then combines. A single group shot works too, especially if the pets are close together and facing the camera, but a blurry pet in the background will stay vague.
- Upload one clear, well-lit photo per pet where the face fills a decent part of the frame.
- If you only have a group shot, pick one where nobody is turned away or half hidden behind the other.
- Avoid photos where two similar-looking pets overlap. That is the situation most likely to blend them into one animal.
If your pets look alike
Two black cats or two tabby siblings are the hardest case. Separate photos matter more here than anywhere else, and it is worth naming the difference between them when you order.
Why does it ask for gender?
Only calendars ask. It helps the generation get build and features right across twelve different scenes. Choose Male or Female if your pets share one, and Mixed if they do not, or if you would rather the artwork stayed neutral. Posters do not ask at all.
Mixed is not a compromise setting. If you have one of each, or simply do not want the artwork leaning either way, it is the correct answer rather than a fallback.
What if you have three or more pets?
Make more than one calendar. A calendar per pet, or per pair, gives each of them a recognisable twelve months instead of three vaguely similar animals in every scene. It is the honest answer rather than the one that sells a bigger single order.
If they genuinely have to be together, a poster is the better product. One image, checked in the preview before you pay, with no limit on how many pets are in it.
Common questions
Can I mix a dog and a cat?
Yes. Different species are no harder than two of the same, and often easier, since there is less chance of the two blending together.
Do all the pets appear in every month?
Yes. The pets you upload appear together across all twelve scenes rather than taking turns.
Can I add a pet after I have generated a preview?
Start a new design with all the photos rather than adding to an existing one. Adding a pet afterwards tends to produce a duplicate of one already there instead of the new one.
What about a pet who has passed away?
That works exactly the same way, and it is one of the most common reasons people order. Any clear photo you already have is enough.
