Pet calendar sizes explained
Four paper sizes, two naming systems, and one decision that comes down to how far away you will be standing.

What size is a pet wall calendar?
A4 is 210 by 297 mm and A3 is 297 by 420 mm, used in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Letter is 8.5 by 11 inches and Ledger is 11 by 17 inches, used in the US and Canada. A3 and Ledger are roughly double the smaller size.
| Size | Millimetres | Inches | Where it is standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210 x 297 | 8.3 x 11.7 | UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand |
| A3 | 297 x 420 | 11.7 x 16.5 | UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand |
| Letter | 216 x 279 | 8.5 x 11 | US, Canada |
| Ledger | 279 x 432 | 11 x 17 | US, Canada |
A4 and Letter are close enough that you will not notice the difference on a wall. The same is true of A3 and Ledger. The naming is regional, not a difference in product.
Which size should you choose?
Choose the smaller size for a kitchen, a home office, or anywhere you stand within arm's reach. Choose the larger size for a hallway, a living room, or any wall you look at from across the room. The artwork is the reason to go large.
- A4 or Letter suits a fridge side, a desk wall, or a narrow gap between cupboards. It reads as a practical calendar that happens to be lovely.
- A3 or Ledger suits a hallway or a living room wall. At this size the monthly artwork carries the wall on its own, and it reads as a picture with dates rather than a calendar with a picture.
If you are buying it as a gift
Go larger. A gift calendar is usually hung somewhere it will be seen by other people, and the larger size is the one that gets commented on.

Make a calendarCan you print the calendar yourself?
Yes. Every digital calendar includes a print-ready PDF at 300 DPI, built at the larger size: A3, or Ledger if you order from the US or Canada. A print shop will do it justice at that size. On a home A4 or Letter printer, use the fit-to-page setting to scale it down.
- On A4 or Letter, choose fit-to-page. The PDF is built larger than home paper, so printing at 100 percent crops the edges off the artwork.
- Use the heaviest paper your printer takes. Anything from 160gsm upward stops the pages curling once they hang.
- If your printer has a photo or best quality setting, use it. The default draft setting bands the colour in the backgrounds.
If you want the printed and bound version rather than loose pages, we print and ship it in selected countries with shipping included.
Common questions
What resolution are the calendar files?
The twelve monthly images are 4K, and the PDF is built at 300 DPI, which is the standard for print. Both hold up at the largest size we offer.
Can I print it larger than A3?
The PDF is built for A3 and Ledger at the top end. Going substantially beyond that will start to show, so we would not recommend it.
Which countries do you ship printed calendars to?
The UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other selected countries, with shipping included. The digital version is available worldwide.
